spiritual practices

Christianity is experiencing a rebirth within many communities, because people are taking the critical step of understanding the way of Jesus as a way of living, rather than a system of beliefs or doctrines.

They're delving into the ancient spiritual practices of the early Christian church to satisfy their contemporary yearnings for meaning, while at the same time creating new incarnations of church and engaging seriously with the cultures in which they live.

My own life is based on the medieval rhythm of life of Benedictine monastic communities, which stressed a life centered around prayer, study, work, and rest. The way I live out each of these four commitments is an authentic expression of my own spiritual sensibilites, personality, and mental programming.

Each person is different and will be drawn to different spiritual practices, but I hope to provide here exposure to many of these forms, so that people can decide for themselves which practices are the most useful and conducive to their spiritual growth.

Spiritual empowerment is fueled by spiritual literacy, and the videos posted on this page are designed to teach others how to practice ways of praying and being that will help them grow, and heal, and be radically transformed.
